Valencia and Alicante are two stunning coastal cities in Spain, each offering its own unique charm. Valencia, known for its vibrant culture, historic architecture, and the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences, combines old-world elegance with modern flair. Alicante, on the other hand, boasts beautiful beaches, a lively marina, and the iconic Santa Bárbara Castle overlooking the city. Both cities are filled with incredible cuisine, lively markets, and a warm Mediterranean atmosphere, making them perfect spots to explore during your visit.

Where to fly in to?

There are two airports that can be used when getting to the wedding. Both Valencia airport and Alicante airport are about an hour away from Gandia. Ryanair fly to Valencia from Dublin, and both Ryanair and Aer Lingus fly to Alicante.

For those looking to explore a bit, we would recommend flying into one airport and flying out of the other, giving you a chance to see both cities.

In terms of getting from the airports to Gandia, it is possible to get both a train or bus. The trains can be organised via the Renfe website and buses via the Omio website.

Renting a car is the best option, and also relatively inexpensive, costing roughly about €70 for the weekend.

Exploring Valencia

Valencia is a vibrant city that perfectly blends history, modernity, and Mediterranean charm. Here are some ideas for what to see in Valencia:
